Sony A7s Announced, Price, Specs, Release Date

Sony A7S 1
Sony A7s has just announced, a 12MP full-frame mirrorless camera designed for both stills and video. The camera can read out its entire sensor fast enough to output 4:2:2 4k video over HDMI at up to 30p, without the need for line skipping or pixel binning. This also promises higher quality for the 1080p video (at up to 60p) it can record internally. Unlike the A7 and A7R, the latest model is not constrained by the AVCHD standard, also offering the XAVCS system, with bitrates of up to 50Mbps.

Release Date: Summer, 2014.

First Review: Canon EF 600 f/4L IS II

By Craig BlairPhoto Credits: Ethan Meleg
I wanted to get a quick article out about the new $12,999 USD Canon EF 600 f/4L IS II super telephoto lens that the world has been waiting years for. When I got the call on June 1, 2012, that mine had arrived at Camera Canada, I was pretty excited. I wanted to make the 3 hour drive to pick it up, but I resisted and waited for it to arrive in the mail the following Monday. For a couple of days, the lens sat in our office and didn’t do much. I just didn’t have the time to get out with it.
EF 300 f/2.8L IS II, EF 400 f/2.8L IS II, EF 600 f/4L IS II, EF 800 f/5.6L IS (500 f/4L IS II still missing) What to do?I decided to give my good friend Ethan Meleg first crack at the lens. His mission, if he chose to accept it, was to take the lens out for one day and try to make some good photographs with it. He was up to the challenge and promised some bird photos worth looking at. I then bid adieu to my recently acquired 600 II.
As with any review here, there’…
